The poet longs to use his wax-like heart’s elegant Flame to uncover Love’s divine secrets at every chance.

O the elegant flame
Of my wax-like heart!
For a while,
Beside me you sit.
Already, I am hurt,
Fearing you will soon part.

To win that dream-like prize,
Every opportunity,
Am I eager to seize.

Like a divine key,
Unlock the secrets within me.

With the light of His mercy,
Brighten my face grim and gloomy.

My senses scattered around,
Confusion makes me go round.
If with His rope you bound,
Angels with blessings will surround.

Those around taunt me in tease:
“This nightingale’s in a real craze.
His madness shall never cease.
Left or right, he cannot choose.
Poor thing, lost in Love’s maze!”

O the warmth of my heart!
Invoking in the cold,
I am about to freeze:
“Ya Hayy! Ya Qayyum!
Ya Qawiyy! Ya Azeez!”

My confidence, the cool breeze,
I whisper for the Rasool-e-Hijaz!
