Mujeeb Jaihoon urges students to find passions beyond academics, stressing their importance for a life enriched with purpose and fulfillment.
Today, I would like to initiate a discussion concerning our post-tenth grade aspirations.
Think of science as the hardware and the humanities as the software of our world. While science explains the physical construction of things like the printing of a book or the mechanics of a smartphone, the humanities and arts represent the content and meaning inside. Just as a phone is merely a shell without the apps and social interactions that make it useful, technology remains a tool until the humanities provide a human purpose by shaping how we communicate and what we value.
Poetry is more than just words on a page; it is any activity that fuels your inner fire. While some people feel this poetic connection through deep learning and academic study, others discover it through their favorite hobbies or creative outlets. Whether it is found in a library or a workshop, poetry is simply the act of doing what you love.
The arts and humanities shape our world and color our daily experiences in profound ways. Movies tell powerful stories that reflect our shared reality, while sports showcase the incredible resilience of the human spirit. We see this in young cricketers who brave the heat, driven by a passion that goes far beyond physical exercise. These activities may not follow scientific logic, but they satisfy our deep-seated need for connection and emotional meaning. Ultimately, our love for cinema and athletics reveals the heart of what it truly means to be human.
As you begin your career and find work that truly inspires you, remember that a paycheck is not the only way to measure your success. The lessons you learn and the growth you experience along the way are actually far more valuable than your salary. Always prioritize the human connections you make, as they are the foundation of real professional satisfaction. By keeping your focus on people and personal development, you will find a deeper sense of achievement in everything you do.
Think of the visionary leaders who turned their brands into household names yet refused to stop growing. Instead of settling for their initial success, they constantly pushed boundaries by exploring entirely new and independent fields. Their journeys prove that we must never become stagnant, even when we have already reached the top. While this prestigious institution offers you a supportive home, you should resist the urge to stay within your comfort zone. Even after you achieve wealth and stability, keep setting ambitious goals to ensure your resources serve a greater purpose.
Now is the perfect time for your ambitions to grow and evolve into something truly meaningful. I discovered my own love for writing at this exact age, never imagining how much it would eventually change my entire life. Although your studies are your main priority right now, you all have unique interests and dreams that deserve your attention. Working hard to bring those personal goals to life will bring you an incredible sense of fulfillment and pride. Just remember that success usually requires real struggle, so be ready to work late and push through the difficult moments
