Great souls, despite disappearing from our sight, keep riding on memory lane, gifting relief for our daily worries— Mujeeb Jaihoon

The fire’s gone
But its heat remains
The nightingale’s no more
Yet its song continues

Ya Rabb!
What do you grant Your friends:
Their tales bring in us tears?

A breeze from their memory
Blows down our sense’s leaves

They conquered the hearts
Of the rich and poor
Even children so little
Escape not their wonder

Their death orphans
Countless hearts
Even the skies cry
Unable to stand the sorrow

Everyday they ride
On our memory lane
Gifting relief and cure
For our every pain

Despite the heavy rains of Time
Their rainbows still shine within

Their love for us
Were as water plain-
Sprang from the valleys
Of love and wisdom

All they taught us
Were letters of love
Hate in their lives:
A forbidden sin

The fire’s gone
But its heat remains
The nightingale’s no more
Yet its song continues
