Farewell Vows

The poet submits at Rawdha that though he is leaving Medina, his soul and its true joy reside in the heavenly hive of Meem

Finally,
Here I am.
Finally, the time has come
To bid farewell to Your Beloved Meem.

I leave my heart behind
For Whom it forever bled.

My soul and its true joy
Reside in this heavenly hive.

Only my body-frame leaves;
Life, though, remains behind.

My veins and their blood,
My blood and its warmth,
My warmth and its lamp—
The lamp, however, is lit from Meem!

I set out
To where I came,
Swearing to my soul:
I shall return many times more.

  1. Spirituality attracts a soul like a bee to flower. We leave our soul behind at the “Enightened City”. We go with bags of sins & faults but return as light as feather. Washed & cleansed with our Ibadah & continuous remembrance of Allah & Rasool. We get reminded of our actual existence & evolve to be enlightened, and that’s the beauty of “Enlightened City”.
