Even as reason and intellect fails and fades, Love takes into ransom the human sensibilities, writes Mujeeb Jaihoon in this mystic musing.
This hypocrite is used,
To throwing too many doubts;
Impatient, ill-behaved,
He hastens.
Forgive! Love is a sharp sword,
It plunders Reason’s hoard.
As much as I keep in the sheath,
It swings open upon Love’s scent.
My reason faints,
My logic fades,
My intellect fails,
Love, but, prevails.
From where did I begin,
Where did I now turn?
Take me not to task,
In the battle of love.
For, with the present tide
‘Jaihoon’ declines to ride.
