Mujeeb Jaihoon’s poem explores the cost of love and solitude, weaving between longing, pain, and the bittersweet essence of memories.

To each thing in this world
An apt price has He assigned

Nothing in life comes free,
The fruit is up the tree

Hey dear!

Your thoughts are the salt
Rubbed on my solitary heart

Pray to the Lord
To lessen your sweet thoughts
I suffer not
As a mirror amidst the rocks

But let not your prayer
Make me forget you whole
And I become a dry wood
In this cruel world

Sigh! Is Solitude the twin of Affinity?
This Pain-price for love is too hefty!

The heart is lost between
Remembrance and forgetfulness:
Neither cherish her memories
Nor ignore her scent

With her thoughts
His heart is a bleeding rose
Without her
It becomes a desert cactus
