A drop of tears may be all it costs the lover to express their love. But the Divine may respond with an ocean of love.

Who doesn’t love the Divine? Even those who seem not to, may silently and secretly endear Him in their deepest hearts. Love for the Creator is as natural as to own self.

But love is not an antique to just remain on the dusty shelves of our hearts. This gift must be proclaimed and handed over to the beloved sooner or later. Love is like the boiling water in a kettle: the heart. If one doesn’t pour the water out, the vessel will explode.

But Love is not a seed which shall sprout in the field of Ego. We cannot expect the Lord to extend His Love without us pitching first our expression of love. Only then will the Lord reciprocate us with a greater pace. Think of it as a door always open, but we must be the ones to reach out and knock.

It is interesting to note that in the Prophetic narration relating to this ‘Love-pitch’ mentions both the spatial and temporal aspects of this reciprocation.

‘I am just as My slave thinks I am, and I am with him if He remembers Me. If he remembers Me in himself, I too, remember him in Myself; and if he remembers Me in a group of people, I remember him in a group that is better than they; and if he comes one span nearer to Me, I go one cubit nearer to him; and if he comes one cubit nearer to Me, I go a distance of two outstretched arms nearer to him; and if he comes to Me walking, I go to him running.’

The Divine reciprocation may be double or even million-fold of our initiative. But the first move must be from the side of the seeker. A drop of tears may be all it costs the lover to express their love. But the Divine may respond with an ocean of love.
