Kite-flying kids await the wind,
And farmers for the monsoon drops,
Majnun, for Laila to untie her tresses,
And the Cup for those intoxicating hands.

Sinners await Ramadan to purge,
And saints at midnight to emerge;
Lotus, for the sun’s warmth
To kiss her cheeks;
And flowers for the bees,
To colonize their nectar-lands.

And the Heart:
Restless, sleepless-
For Spring the First
To celebrate
