Surakarta, Indonesia (Oct 23 2019): Slogans of the Sage, Mujeeb Jaihoon’s illustrated collection of aphorisms by Sayyid Muhammed Ali Shihab Thangal, the late Indian statesman and philanthropist, gifted to Joko Purwanto, Senior lecturer, Music department, Indonesia Institute of Arts Surakarta. Also present were other eminent academicians and students of the Arts Institute.
Written by Mujeeb Jaihoon, this coffee table book contains the sagacious aphorisms of Sayyid Muhammed Ali Shihab Thangal, the late South Indian statesman and philanthropist.
Interestingly, there are many similarities between the Islamic belief and practices among Keralite and Javanese Muslims.
Launched at Sharjah International Book fair 2017, the aesthetically illustrated book of quotations has been warmly received earlier by several world leaders including His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mabarak Al Nahyan, UAE’s Minister of Tolerance, Dr. Manmohan Singh, former Indian Prime Minister and other eminent academicians, interfaith activists and leading educational institutions.
