Jaihoon’s poem seeking solace and spiritual renewal in the city sanctified by the Prophet’s (PBUH) presence.
Hey Nightingale!
How long shall you sing
In the Rose’s absence?
Hey Moth!
Forever shall you cry
Sans the glimpse of the Flame?
Hey Wine-Cup!
Why waste nights in solitude,
Estranged from the Sagi’s warmth?
Hey Night Sky!
Since when have you desired
To kiss the Moon’s lovely cheeks?
I, too, lost my grip
On passion and patience.
Hence, set out to Meem’s city.
