KKN Kurup: The maestro of Malabar history

20 years ago as I was collecting bits and pieces of historical data for my book, The Cool Breeze From Hind, it was among my greatest wish to just meet Dr. KKN Kurup, the maestro of Malabar history. Somehow, Lord did not destine it then.
Today, the same intellectual giant paid a cordial visit at my residence after our meet at the Sharjah International Book Fair. We spent hours as we discussed history, literature and politics. ‘How can they create a New India? India is the same India as in the past.’, asserted the former vice chancellor of Calicut University as he opposed the Hindutva extremists whose ultranationalist ideology was killing the soul of the Indian nation.

While taking leave, this extremely kind octogenarian did not forget to humbly thank my Better Half for our little hospitality.
