In the pursuit of passion’s flame, this radical lover dreads divine judgment for his all-consuming adoration— poeticizes Mujeeb Jaihoon.
The rich may be grilled,
On the wealth they gloated.
The sages could be drilled,
On wisdom they devoted.
And the tyrant shall be tried,
For the weak they tortured.
Speeding cars,
Dazzling diamonds,
Virgin maidens,
Majestic mansions,
Savage stardom,
Herculean health.
Abundant fortunes we possess,
Forever will we sweat to confess.
My fear, hey love-cheeked dear,
Is of His blessing another:
Lord may take me to task:
Lost forever in your love-lap.
