Brevity Kills Love’s Soul

A passionate plea for patience in expressing love’s depth.

Hey, the one dressed
In my passion,
Love for whom
Is the only fashion.

Hey, the one soaked in tears,
Heart whose absence fears.

Ask me not to make it fast,
Love is not to be told in haste.

Ask me not to be terse,
The love-battle, too fierce.

To convey love isn’t easy,
It isn’t meant for the busy.

The time in life is too short,
Too little even for drawing a dot.

Then how to write of my love
In words not more than few?

The tale of love is too vast,
To make it quick isn’t just.

The nightingale lengthens his song,
An excuse to see the Rose for long.

Oh, the one who puts me in a craze,
Who kindles my nights to days.

Take it from the lover in Jaihoon,
Love, a tale not to be told soon.

Brevity kills
The soul of love, for
A lover’s wine shall never
Cease to flow.
