We turn to verses to mask our suffering when silenced by the regressive System— poetizes Mujeeb Jaihoon.
Abused
Ambushed
Afflicted
Ashamed
Banished
Belittled
Betrayed
Besieged
Our miseries know no limits
Our wounds have no names
A bunch of losers we are
Entangled in sins we are
Our state is beyond pity
Even devils our tears pity
A thousand shames we bear
Yet a single good we endear
The love of His Beloved
We cherish in times embattled
May He protect us in Meem’s shade,
Whose light never shadow made.
Those who know my pain, know
Those who hear my tale, hear
I juggle my woeful, tearful tale
I fiddle my pain with the poetic veil
