The Maestro of Mercy Launched at Sri Narayana Guru Jayanti

Based on the life of Shaykh Muhyiddeen al-Shadhili, the guests at Jaihoon’s book launch included Swami Sandrananda and MP N.K. Premachandran.

SHARJAH, UAE (Sep 7 2025)– “The Maestro of Mercy,” Mujeeb Jaihoon’s book of anecdotes aimed at celebrating spiritual traditions and promoting universal compassion was launched at a special event in Sharjah. Inspired by the life of Shaykh Muhyiddeen al-Shadhili, a revered Sufi saint from Kerala, India (also known as Athippatta Moideen Kutty Musliyar), the book was unveiled as part of the Guru Jayanthi celebrations.

Organized by Guru Vichara Dhara UAE (GVD), a group dedicated to promoting the teachings of Sree Narayana Guru, the great social reformer who dedicated his life to fighting caste discrimination and building an equal society, the book launch highlighted the historic parallels between the lives and teachings of the Sufi saint and the Hindu philosopher—both figures emerged from humble origins and championed democratic spirituality and radical compassion.

The ceremony was attended by a distinguished gathering, including Brahmasree Swami Sandrananda of Sivagiri Mutt, Member of Parliament N.K. Premachandran (Lok Sabha), author Mujeeb Jaihoon, and prominent Emirati dignitaries, alongside officials from Guru Vichara Dhara UAE. Their presence underscored the event’s theme of interfaith harmony and shared values.

“The stories of Shaykh Muhyiddeen al-Shadhili resonate deeply with the principles of Sree Narayana Guru. Both figures remind us that the path to a better society is paved with empathy and a commitment to justice for all,” said author Jaihoon, Indian-born author based in the UAE.

“The Maestro of Mercy” is a testament to Jaihoon’s ability to capture and convey the timeless wisdom of a spiritual leader whose teachings on love and service continue to inspire people across the globe.
