Hindinte Ithihaasam Book launch at Sharjah International Book Fair – Nov 06 2021

Sharjah (Nov 06 2021): Hindinte Ithihaasam, the Malayalam translation of Mujeeb Jaihoon’s historical fiction – The Cool Breeze From Hind – was launched at the 40th edition of Sharjah International Book Fair. Prominent personalities from education, publishing and media attended the colorful ceremony anchored by Najma Mohammed, UAE-based personal development counselor and life coach.

Guests included Professor Abdullah Al Shamsi, vice chancellor of British University in Dubai, Dr. MK Muneer, chairman of Olive Books and leading Kerala politician, RJ Fazlu, senior journalist of HIT 96.7 FM, and author Mujeeb Jaihoon.

Syam Prabhu, corporate legal advisor, Zainub Jenna Bata, Harvard-trained negotiator and TEDx speaker, and Shihaz Sultan delivered Felicitation speeches.

Ibrahim Badsha Wafy, the translator of Man Booker International award winning author Jokha Al Harthi, has rendered this historical fiction into Malayalam. The cover design, crafted by Shiyas Ahmad, leading calligrapher, is in contemporary doodle pattern along with calligraphic description in 5 languages including Malayalam, Arabic, Urdu, English and Arabi-Malayalam. The drawings are based on the chapter topics in the book including Cheraman Masjid, Kunhali Marakkar, Ponnani, Mampuram, Tipu Sultan, Wagon tragedy, Vallathol Narayana Menon and Vasco Da Gama. Shaf Beypore, leading Dubai-based creative artist and art director, contributed to the illustrations.
