Angst of the Archangel

Angel Jibreel grapples with a reverent awe as he readies to bring the divine Revelation down to Mount Hira for the very first time.

Just before the descent
To the clay-world below,
Mighty Jibreel turned
To his angelic comrades:

“How do I appear, friends,
Before I meet the Meem Sire?
How are my wings, folks,
Are they at their best?

I am yet to see his face,
I am yet to witness his grace;
Since the day I was created,
I have yearned for this Full Moon.

So understand my angst,
Empathize with my sweat.
For, you and I were created
For Meem to be celebrated.”
