Our study of the Holy Book might not truly benefit us without that core love for Allah’s Prophet and his family, opines Mujeeb Jaihoon.

The Faithful’s Kindergarten: Inspiring Prophetic Love before Painful Lessons

When we talk about kindergarten for our children, we all feel that familiar pinch of panic. The admission process has become so hectic that it feels as intense as applying for university. However, the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) offered a much simpler, three-step strategy for our little ones’ early learning.

Interestingly, he didn’t start by instructing us to teach them about prayer or fasting. Instead, we are first asked to inspire in them a deep love for the Prophet. The second step is to impart a love for his blessed family. Only after these two is it suggested that we teach them the Holy Book of Allah.

From our limited understanding, we can see a beautiful logic here: if those first two foundations of love are in place, the third follows naturally and without struggle. In fact, our study of the Holy Book might not truly benefit us without that core love for Allah’s Prophet and his family.

Love for the Prophet is the very foundation of our faith and our creed. After all, it is only natural to cherish the people closest to those we love.
Love is the constant companion of the human spirit. Without it, our existence loses its meaning. It is as essential to us as air or water, acting as the catalyst for almost everything we do. Think about it: we wake up early and rush to work not because we love the corporate world, but because we love our families and want to provide for them. Love is the true spark behind every human endeavor.

Ultimately, Prophetic love is what empowers us to achieve success, not just in this life, but in the hereafter as well.
