Destiny may allow the demolition of Ka’aba in the last days. But even in those chaotic times, Medina’s Palace will be safe— writes Jaihoon.

It was the night of Hajj,
When emerged this doubt:

The Sage of Babylon
Had no moment for leisure.
Sacrifice upon sacrifice
Was his everyday pleasure.

The Lord’s ‘friend’ built it,
As his son helped to raise it.
He then called to the world,
And the Lord made all heard.

Millions circumambulate it,
Countless sanctify it.

Quenching the faith-thirsty,
Inspiring the disheartened.

Yet, destined is its destruction,
A sign before the Resurrection.

How sad a truth!
How bitter a justice!

Asked I,

“Would you not be
In pain
To see your effort go
In vain?”

Came the reply-

‘Every act is born
By the decree of my Lord.
Justice and Truth
Are from His Command.

Even as He allowed
His House to be destroyed,
Swore He to have
His Beloved’s preserved.

Neither Tyrants
Nor Imposters can dare
To stain His Beloved’s House
Even with a scar.’
