Awaken Entrepreneurship Within Classrooms: Mujeeb Jaihoon

The real joy of wealth is in Distribution, not Accumulation.

Respected career gurus, experts, counselors and social activists. We have assembled here in this haven of philanthropy, JDT Islam, which has a history of remarkable philanthropic initiatives. It could well serve as a subject of educational and welfare case studies in Malabar region when we consider its tremendous success so far. Surely, JDT Islam is a winner in philanthropic adventure. Moreover, PM Foundation has been giving immeasurably to the society irrespective of the aspirations of its candidates.

We are, therefore, blessed to be under the umbrella of two major titans of philanthropy and education. For the same reason, words uttered here cannot be empty promises.

Career guidance: Water and Sun for Aspirants

Career guidance is not just another form of voluntary social service. You would be influencing where the boy or girl sitting across the table will finally land up in their lives. Your advice and suggestions will influence countless number of people, not just the candidate. It will affect the families and companies associated with the aspirant. Your words are water and sun for the seeds of growth and prosperity. It is as challenging a task as it is noble.

I come from Sharjah, the United Arab Emirates, hailed as the educational hub of Middle East. I am fortunate to be associated with some notable social organizations there.

Children’s Dreams Supersede Lavish Parental Affection

The Kerala career market is, unfortunately, influenced more by social norms than actual opportunities. Parents may dream, but not plan, for their children. Children should be free to choose their course of passion, even if it means relinquishing your luxurious affection for them. Society may label you cruel and heartless for your sacrifice, but the final triumph would be your offspring’s. And yours too.

Awakening Entrepreneurship Within Classrooms

With your kind permission, I would like to offer some of my thoughts for your kind attention and intervention. Kerala has tons of medical, engineering and the recent surge in government job aspirants. Entrepreneurship is a seldom noticed domain which need the enrichment from career gurus and experts. Malayalees are super entrepreneurs who have built mega empires, regrettably, more outside Kerala than inside. Unfortunately, their entrepreneurship spirit is awakened stronger only when they leave their homeland.

The passion for entrepreneurship should be cultivated more so within the campus, than after it. Many successful silicon valley founders discovered their ‘Eureka’ moment during their college days, with some even leaving their classrooms to pursue their dreams.

I am not hinting at a blind imitation of foreign-tested ideas. But times have changed. Many of our children are smarter and bolder than us. All they need is some guidance, which have to be given when in campus. Teachers need to impart the fun and thrill, besides a pinch of motivation, of entrepreneurship while in school.
