Mujeeb Jaihoon asserts the timeless endurance of virtues—truthfulness and justice—amidst the ever-changing landscape of human progress.

The topic for today is “The Road Not Taken” and while I may not have taken a road like that, let me try my best to share my limited knowledge.

Despite being from another generation, certain virtues like dedication, truthfulness, justice, and morality have remained unchanged since the beginning of humanity. Even during the fourth industrial revolution, values like these continue to be essential. The world may change in many ways, but virtues such as justice, morality, and truthfulness endure.

It’s crucial to recognize that every idea in this world was once an innovation. When Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) introduced Islam in Makkah, it was an innovation too. Similarly, when your institution was established, it was considered a disruption and an innovation by the then clergy.

You should never be stagnant. Your institution equips you with several like Urdu, English, and Arabic so that you may traverse beyond your immediate neighborhood. It’s time to dream beyond the borders of your beloved nation like Europe and Americas.

In my opinion, we should translate ancient texts into contemporary language so that the present generation can understand the wisdom conveyed by scholars from the past.

Creative Activism is an expressive endeavor, and different personalities have distinct ways of expressing it. While some may resort to street marches, others express their support for the oppressed through painting, speeches, drama performances or poetry. Nevertheless, activism is a human obligation to express solidarity with the marginalized.
