Syed Habeeb Javed reciting Allama Iqbaal’s poem followed by na’at (poem in praise of the Holy Prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) at “RIPPLES”, the UAE release of Jaihoon’s third book The Cool Breeze From Hind a spiritual travelogue
I had a meeting with the illustrious poet, which was worthy of being remembered. On 22nd November 1937 I visited Iqbal with my uncle and his son. The poet was confined o his house owing to long and protracted illness, which ultimately proved fatal. In spite of it he received us with great warmth and we stayed with him for over three hours. His old and devoted servant, Ali Bux, came in many times and tried to stop him from overexerting himself, but the Allama ignored his advice and went on talking to us. His heart seemed to have opened up and freely expressed his views on various views
(Iqbal’s observations on Mystic Experience) The mystic’s intimate association with the eternal which gives him a sense of the unreality
The incommunicability of mystic experience is due to the fact that it is essentially a matter of inarticulate feeling, untouched by discursive intellect.
Iqbal observes that although mystic experience is normal, it cannot be broken into separate parts for convenience.
In the words of Prof Whitehead, the theory reduces one-half of Nature to a ‘dream’ and other half to a ‘conjecture’.
The one grasp Reality piecemeal, the other grasps it in its wholeness. The one fixes its gaze on the eternal the other on the temporal aspect of Reality.
His Critique Of Pure Reason revealed the limitations of pure reason and reduced the whole work of the rationalists to a heap of ruins. And justly has he been described as God’s Greatest Gift to his country
What tremendous spiritual revolution will take place, practically in no time, if the proud aristocratic Brahmin of South Indian made daily to stand shoulder to shoulder with the untouchable!
