Complements usually constrain us into cozy comfort zones. But when Mothers armor children with confidence, belligerent battles seem child’s play
In a rare detour from my techie weekend engagements, I chose to take my Mother for a tour of the Holy Prophet’s Life exhibition in Dubai, curated by Sheikh Nasir.
After listening to an overwhelming narration of the historical places and artifacts associated with the Holy Prophet, we were shown a charter enlisting the names of the great scholars and leaders who had visited this Celebration of Love.
My Mother unapologetically remarked to the exhibition guide that her son is a prominent writer whose name should be engraved on the list of Guests of Honor. I corrected her saying that the list is for only world renowned luminaries. Her resilient response was even more defiant, “My son is no less a luminary than those world leaders.” I helplessly conceded to her motherly pride as I escorted her back to the car.
Complements usually constrain us into cozy comfort zones. But when Mothers armor children with confidence, belligerent battles seem child’s play.
