A spiritual friend is ablution for the heart whose prayer and presence takes us closer to the Most-Loving
As I close my eyes so tight,
She appears, with a smile so bright,
Even before sleep begins its flight,
She’s there, a comforting sight.
She is the wodhu
For my heart
Like a Tasbih:
Beside my prayer mat
She whispers,
“Keep your eyes closed,
Lest I vanish
Out of sight!”
In the merciless world
of zeroes and ones
She is a gentle glow worm
Full of light
