I have always wondered about the paradox between gender and literature. Most students in this session are female. It is always women who show a greater interest in poetry and literature, both of which primarily revolve around love. Perhaps, God has finely tuned the hearts of women, compared to their male counterparts, for better absorption and appreciation of works on love. However, we also observe that most well-known writers and poets, who nurture and narrate stories about love, are men.

Therefore, let us pray that the spread of women’s education in our society helps bridge this gap so that we may have an equal number of poetesses alongside poets.

Sufism and Cookery

Certain Sufi mystics began their training of selflessness in kitchens. Only a selfless person can joyfully cook for others to enjoy. Ego and cooking do not make good bed partners. Cooking is, therefore, one of the greatest selfless acts, which, due to social and historical circumstances, is often entrusted to women. The cook receives neither cash nor any other tangible rewards.
Women are naturally affectionate and selfless, making them excellent cooks. However, they also possess the potential to become exceptional poetesses, as they are blessed with poetic hearts. Poetry, too, is a form of cooking.

Domestic Tyranny

Man learns language for the first time from his mother. We mimic our mother’s speech without any knowledge of grammar. Motherhood is revered in all creeds, communities, scriptures, and societies, particularly in India. Moreover, women are significantly affected in conflict zones.
We often speak of political leaders as tyrants who oppress their nations ruthlessly. Yet, we conveniently overlook the male tyrants within our own homes, oppressing women.

Born Sufis

Women often relinquish their rights, both in ancient and modern homes. In that sense, women are born Sufis. When women sacrifice their rights, it is deemed necessary for practical life. However, when men do the same, they are elevated as saints. Injustice finds no better example.
Embrace and Exploit Words

The road to success does not grant you the luxury and freedom to hold onto both ends of the rope. You must let go of one end, which is often the pursuit of fun. And remember, words are God’s blessings that allow us to express our love. Embrace and exploit them to the fullest extent possible.
