An intellectual re-reading of his Blessed personality is the need of the hour, appeals Jaihoon in the national seminar held in Cotton University, Assam
Jan 22 2020 (Guwahati, Assam): Calling the Holy Prophet Muhammad a Spiritual Secularist, Mujeeb Jaihoon asserted that the Holy Prophet was never ready to accept injustice and oppression on the part of his Community and sternly warned the Muslims of consequences, including missing the salvation train, in case they resorted to such unjust practices.
Jaihoon, the UAE-based writer and activist, was delivering his valedictory speech at the one-day seminar entitled, ‘Prophet Muhammed (PBUH)- Education, Religion, Humanity & Society‘, jointly organized by the Department Of Arabic, Persian & Urdu, Cotton University, Guwahati and Darul Huda Islamic University, Assam Centre, held on 22nd January, 2020.
The Child-hearted Art & Animal Lover
Jaihoon admitted that while Muslims could afford to be logical about the existence of God, emotion and sentiment get the better of them when it comes to the person of Holy Prophet. Nevertheless, Jaihoon called for an intellectual re-reading of the history of the Arabian Prophet. ‘Though he was a social reformer and military commander associated with several expeditions, we should also approach the Prophet as a person whom one could successfully emulate in the modern times. He was also an ardent animal lover, including savior of ants, and a child-hearted companion of the young. He shed tears over the death of the poor and deprived. He respected arts and poetry and lavishly honored the artists, irrespective of their faith. He saw humanity as one and believed in peace among all’ said Jaihoon.

Other key guests at the event included Prof. Bhabesh Chandra Goswamy, Vice Chancellor of Cotton University, Dr. Bahauddeen Muhammed Nadwi, Vice Chancellor of Darul Huda Islamic University (Kerala), Dr. Diganta Kumar Das, registrar, Cotton University, Guwahati, R.C. Jain, Chairman of Assam Secondary Education Board, Hafiz Rashid Ahmed Choudhury, Sr. Advocate (Guwahati High Court) and Abu Nasar Saied Ahmed, Visiting Professor (IIT Guwahati) and Dr.Fazlur Rahman , H.o.D, Arabic, Persian and Urdu, Cotton University.
