After fifteen days of not receiving revelation due to not saying insha Allah, when Jibreel (as) came, Rasool sallallahu alaihi wa sallam said that he thought Wahy (revealation) had stopped.
Verses 1 and 2 should not be read together. The letter ‘Sin’ placed between the two verses indicates that it is better to pause. Or else the meaning would become distorted (Straight Crookedness)
Holy Quran is revealed as a warning to non-believers and glad tiding to believers. Allah does not wish to slaughter the non-believers entirely. Or else His Prophets would have become the worst terrorists.
Allah was not interested in winning the people’s hearts to Islam at the cost of danger to Prophet’s life.
A hadith states that a time would arrive when all forms of earning livelihood would become possible only by committing haram and during such times celibacy would become permissible. A son would become fitna for father, wife for husband and neighbors and relatives when they would belittle his poor lifestyle and force him to earn through haram.
The phrase ‘covered their ears’ means that noise is the fastest awakener for a man asleep. A loud noise prevents a man from sleeping peacefully.
