God’s lovers, who enrich each other, melt as solitary dew when separated from one another— writes Jaihoon on spiritual kinship.
O my little-learned friend
Who made me in humility bend
Tell me in words sweet and few
Why melt my heart in the solitary dew?
Do you know the terrible pain
Unable to share in words plain
The sweet thoughts about Him
That made my sins away drain?
Do you know why my faith
Wavered in days late?
In His hope I weep
Much trust in Him I keep!
The same question I repeat
You asked me which in a note:
“Do you know why to you I write:
Friend you are the only one
Who reminds me of my Lord,
About whom I love to read”
His Lovers are used
To words plenty
How can nand be fertile
With rains scanty?
I know not
What more to say
Nor an excuse
To with you longer stay
A voice then spoke
From behind the screen
I looked around
But no one was seen
“Do you know how easy it is
For such questions to pose
Have you but tried for once
A word or two in response?”
