Technology, at its Core, is Automated Impatience
Modern technology is fundamentally engineered to exploit and automate human impatience, argues Mujeeb Jaihoon
Our existence is essentially derived from our awareness. An unaware or non-present person is good as non-existent. Since the highest form of awareness is the consciousness of our Creator, we truly exist only in proportion to our orientation toward the Lord.
For a divine seeker, the connection to his or her Creator is the ultimate living experience. They cannot imagine a life without his closeness. They will suffocate and get desperate to sustain the ‘Sila’ (link) between them and their Lord. A moment of forgetfulness isn’t just a lapse in their concentration. Rather it is a cardiac arrest of the soul.
As if every vessel and nerve echoes with the cry: Our wujood (existence) is but a reflection of the jood (bounty) of the Wājib al-Wujūd (the Necessarily Existent).
Just as a child in the womb lacks the capacity to breathe or feed on its own, the seeker realizes they are ultimately unborn without the Divine. His awareness is the umbilical cord that sustains their very life.
